About Us

F&C Technologies is a Kiwi- owned company formed in 2014 by Chris and Fiona Burton, based in the beautiful Moutere Hills of Tasman. We specialise in electronic embedded hardware design. Our particular specialisation is real-time high performance signal processing, and control product development - from initial requirements and feasibility analysis, through modelling and design, to implementation and manufacturing support. 

Our own product architecture is based upon our vision for future generic autonomous systems, emulating and improving upon biological distribution of sensing, motor control, redundancy and energy storage.  We call our architecture "real-time nodes"

Directors

Chris Burton has been engaged over the last twenty-five years in research and design of electronic hardware and signal processing in several high-profile companies, including several successful start-ups. During his career he has served as a senior designer, team leader, product architect and manager. There are currently dozens of products being sold globally that Chris has been involved in a leadership capacity - from radio systems, to networking equipment and even high end video instrumentation. Chris’s creative flair and vast technical experience are pivotal to the business. 

Fiona Burton has over 15 years experience in engineering operations and project management - specialising in managing the growth transition of small and medium size companies. This includes the establishment of process and the management of corporate transitions caused by moving office, ownership change or corporate merger.  

Team

 We are a small team that has access to a wide network of engineering professionals who we call upon to facilitate specialist areas otherwise difficult to resource.

Design capabilities include: mixed signal analogue and digital circuits, high speed digital and FPGA based systems (both Xilinx and Altera) and high speed serial transceivers (up to 6GHz). We are particularly adept at FPGA based algorithm implementation in high performance control, signal generation and detection, and audio and video algorithms.
